The Block’s Tess Struber gets candid about her pregnancy struggles

The Block 2019 winners Tess and Luke Struber announced on Sunday they were expecting their first child together in April next year.

And on Tuesday, Tess spoke candidly about her pregnancy in an Instagram Q&A.

When a fan asked whether she’d experienced any sickness, the 28-year-old explained that she’d suffered from ‘nausea’ and ‘nosebleeds’ during her first trimester.

‘I was pretty sick! From about six weeks to 13 weeks: nausea, migraines, nose bleeds and a little bit of vomiting,’ she said.

‘I drank ginger tea and took took ginger tablets, which helped. I force fed myself small meals throughout the day and kept my food really simple.’

She continued: ‘There isn’t a lot you can do unfortunately but keep drinking water.’ 

Another fan was eager to know if Tess was pregnant when she and Luke appeared on an episode of The Block earlier this year. 

Tess responded: ‘No I wasn’t! That was roughly a month before we fell pregnant! I wouldn’t have been able to function if I was.’

The couple announced their baby news in an interview with Stellar magazine over the weekend.

At the time of publication, Tess revealed she was almost 20 weeks pregnant.

‘We’re having a baby, and we’re so excited. It’s something we’ve been planning on for a while, and the stars aligned perfectly,’ she said. 

‘I’m almost 20 weeks now, so I’m pretty pregnant,’ she added with a laugh.
