Bachelor star and fitness guru Sam Wood reveals the ‘biggest mistake’ people make when trying to lose weight

Personal trainer Sam Wood has revealed the simple mistake many people make when they are trying to get in shape.

The former Bachelor star, 40, told TV Week that making small changes regularly and maintaining a good balance of food are both essential to weight loss.

‘The biggest mistake people make is trying to do too much at once,’ he said.

He continued: ‘Making small and positive changes every week is a much better way to do it [than sudden changes]. If it’s not sustainable, it won’t work.’

Sam added that it’s important to eat ‘a good source of healthy protein, some complex carbs and good fats’.

The fitness expert also recommends ‘shopping in one or two batches throughout the week with specific meals in mind’.

It comes after Sam shared his guide to getting your pre-lockdown body back, now that Covid-19 restrictions have lifted and many Australians are starting to re-focus on their diet and fitness.

‘Moving your body in some way every day is most important,’ he told FEMAIL.

‘It doesn’t matter how and when – but it is good to mix it up, rather than doing the same workout each day.’

Sam, who launched his 28 By Sam Wood program in 2016, also said that eating a healthy diet is key to getting your body back on track.

He said he likes to make meals that are both ‘easy to make and high in protein, rich in vitamins and low in carbs’.

Sam also revealed he loves to take supplements because he thinks they give a major boost to his health and overall well-being.

‘At the moment, for me it’s all about good quality protein powder after a workout or in my morning smoothie,’ he said.
