Miley Cyrus has responded to fans disappointed over the roll-out of her new album Plastic Hearts, which was not available for purchase at major retailers on the day it was released last week.
After fans complained they were unable to find the physical album on its release date, November 27, in Target, an equally ‘frustrated’ Cyrus addressed the situation on her Twitter account.
Cyrus claimed she selected the ‘suggested’ release date of Black Friday yet, unbeknownst to her at the time, major retailers refrain from stocking albums on this day.

Not only that, but retailers won’t even receive the album for several weeks after it’s official release.
Miley claims she was never made aware of this fact at the time she selected the date.
Though fortunately fans will still be able to listen to digital copies of the record, this will undoubtedly impact Miley’s first week sales.
‘My fans are everything to me & to know y’all are disappointed when going out to stores/calling/checking stock to be let down I am equally/if not more frustrated,’ she wrote.
‘When choosing 11/27 THE SUGGESTED DATE for album release my team and I were never told major retailers don’t stock physical albums on Black Friday and won’t get copies of PH until a few weeks after release.

Miley included screenshots of various fans, disappointed over the elusive album.
One fan said her shipment wouldn’t arrive until December 15 after ordering it.

Another fan accused RCA Records of attempting to sabotage Miley’s career.

Though fans will have to wait a little longer until getting the album in their hands, Miley will soon be appearing on small screens.
Miley will be performing in the new concert series Amazon Music Holiday Plays, which is hosted by fellow music sensation Lil Nas X and set to premiere December 1.
In a sneak peek, Miley sits in a decorated dressing room with Lil Nas X, who throws a series of performance suggestions to her.
‘So I was thinking, you gotta Christmas up your performance, you know?’ he suggests to her. ‘Maybe some tinsel?’

Miley continued to shoot down Lil Nas X’s many suggestions, one of which was a nod to her hit 2013 song, Wrecking Ball.
‘What if you took this disco ball and you like, wrote on it?’ he asks her.
‘Lil Nas X, I’ve been there, done that,’ she says.
Finally, Miley made her exit.
‘Love you!’ she says, gently touching his silver hair.
