She’s earned a reputation for her sterling dedication to health and fitness.   

So when former Miss Universe Australia Erin McNaught, 38, used her popular instagram page to promote soft drinks on Monday, fans were understandably confused. 

The model, who proved her incredible fitness on Seven’s SAS Australia last month, posted a photo of herself hanging backwards on climbing frame while clutching a can of Pepsi Max.

‘The few weeks I was on SAS were a MASSIVE challenge,’ she began her sponsored post. 

‘So when @PepsiMaxAus asked me to get involved in their Taste Challenge, I thought I’d take on the test by trying out some of my new tricks in the gym, but with a bit of a twist!’ she continued.  

Describing her gravity-defying photo, Erin wrote: ‘Monkey bars + hanging sit ups + while taking a sip of two different colas.’

‘Did I mention I was blindfolded at the same time? Eeeeasssily done,’ the wife of rapper Example bragged, before encouraging her fans to show off their best tricks at the gym while using the Pepsi hashtag. 

It wasn’t long before fans accused Erin of ‘selling out’ by promoting an unhealthy beverage rather than a product that reflects her healthy lifestyle. 

‘After all your exposure to a wide audience you had a chance to promote a healthy choice of beverage! You can influence for the better, girl! I can’t believe you could get behind damn Pepsi,’ one follower raged.

Back in 2010, the former MTV presenter was named the face of Pepsi’s ‘Hit Refresh’ campaign in Australia, reportedly winning the role over Ruby Rose.
