He is currently spending time in Italy, where he’s shooting his upcoming movie Across The River And Into The Trees amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

And Liev Schreiber was spotted arriving on the Venice set of the screen adaptation of Ernest Hemingway’s novel on Friday, as production continued.

The 53-year-old actor stepped out in style for his day of work, donning an oatmeal cardigan and matching trousers, which he teamed with a crisp white shirt.

Staving off the cold winter temperatures in a black coat, the father-of-two rounded out his ensemble with black boots and a matching baseball cap.

Adhering to local guidelines by wearing a surgical blue face mask, the screen star wheeled a small black suitcase along as he made his way into the Danieli Hotel.

Liev has been spending time in the picturesque city with his 27-year-old girlfriend Taylor Neisen, with whom he has been seen enjoying romantic outings.

The couple have been going strong ever since they started dating in 2017, following his divorce from Naomi Watts.

Screen star Liev was married to the actress, 52, for 11 years and the couple share two children Sasha, 13, and Kai, 11.

They split in September 2016 and have been very verbal in remaining friends in the years following their break-up.

Liev’s new film – an adaptation of the Ernest Hemingway novel – will see the Spotlight actor star as Colonel Richard Cantwell.

Set during the final days of WWII, his character grapples with physical and emotional damage from the previous war as well as whirlwind romance with a younger woman.

The film is based on Hemingway’s 1950 novel of the same name, which was his last novel published before his death.

Reactions at the time were overwhelmingly negative, though modern critics view the novel more favourably.

The production is taking all the necessary COVID-19 precautions – as Italy was the first country to stop filming and go into lockdown – which included getting multiple swab tests before and during the stay.

Since landing in the European country in mid-October, the TV and film star has been thrilled to be on location in what he calls, ‘arguably the most beautiful city in the world (next to NYC of course)’.
