Hailee Steinfeld admits the fascination with her love life is a ‘tough thing to comprehend’

Hailee Steinfeld has admitted she finds the fascination with her love life a ‘tough thing to comprehend’. 

The actress, 24, garnered attention back in 2017 when she was linked to Niall Horan and was suspected to have split the following year. 

Now in an interview with Glamour, Hailee has spoken about the interest in her private life and how she deals with and breaking boundaries’. 

The Hawkeye star, who has also been rumoured to have dated Justin Bieber and Kissing Booth co-star Douglas Booth, said of the constant speculation about whom she is dating: ‘I was going to talk about being in control of it, but the issue is, a lot of people don’t feel they have control over what people know about them or find out about them. 

‘Some of our most private moments can be somehow publicised or leaked and we have no control over that, which is a tough thing to comprehend.

‘I just feel so fortunate to be in the place that I’m in. 

‘I feel blessed to be working and to be playing unbelievable parts, producing an amazing project, and that’s what I want to talk about, that’s what I’m most proud of; that’s what I want people to know, and they can choose to be on board with it or not.’

This month, Hailee has been in New York City filming new scenes for Disney+ series Hawkeye. 

The actress plays Marvel hero Kate Bishop and spoke about how in her own life how she is trying to break ‘societal standards that are ridiculous’. 

‘Honestly, I feel I am a part of a generation that is constantly breaking down walls, pushing the envelope and jumping into new territories, and that’s becoming more accepted,’ Hailee said.

‘I feel like, in my head, I’ve put myself in a box more than I feel society has. I think that there are definitely societal standards that are ridiculous, and I don’t feel any pressure to live up to any of those. 

‘I feel like I’ve got my own and it’s very easy to get carried away with them.’

Elsewhere Phoebe Dynevor spoke to the publication. Phoebe, 25, is the daughter of Coronation Street legend Sally Dynevor.

The actress is now staring in the new Netflix series Bridgerton, taking on the leading role as Daphne Bridgerton.

Phoebe said: ‘I started acting when I was 14 and I have seen it really change,’ Phoebe reveals. 

‘Even just in the last five years there’s been a shift in wanting to make more fully dimensional female characters. The scripts that I’m reading aren’t just someone’s girlfriend. 

‘Also, it’s down to me as a woman being able to say, ‘Actually, I don’t feel comfortable with that.’ We’ve been given more power to be able to say ‘no’, and for a long time that wasn’t a thing. Women weren’t allowed to speak up.’
