Wildlife warrior Robert Irwin says he’s ‘thankful for art during 2020’ as he reflects on the ‘occasional craziness the past year brought’
He’s about to become an uncle for the first time as sister Bindi Irwin prepares to welcome her first child with husband Chandler Powell.
And on Friday, Robert Irwin, 17, revealed two hobbies helped him escape the ‘craziness’ of 2020.
‘This year I discovered a love for guitar and painting – a beautiful escape from the occasional craziness that this past year brought,’ he wrote in Instagram.

In the first image, Rob is playing the guitar while standing on a balcony overlooking the treetops of a rain forest.
He is spotted completely immersed in the notes he is stringing together and appears to be singing along.
In the second image, the soon-to-be first-time uncle is seen smiling ear-to-ear as he proudly shows off his artwork.

He appears to have just finished painting a gorgeous landscape, with paint all over his clothes, hands, face and paintbrush.
Rob’s new hobbies are two of many – adding to his interest in skateboarding, photography, surfing and caring for animals, just like his late father, Steve Irwin.
Rob’s sweet ‘thankful’ post comes just weeks before sister Bindi and her 24-year-old husband, Chandler Powell, welcome their first child.

On Thursday, Chandler also reflected on the ‘highest of highs and lowest of lows’ of 2020 as he shared a photo of himself with Bindi holding up a baby-sized Australia Zoo uniform shirt on Instagram.
‘As easy as it is to look back on the hardships of this year, I’m choosing to revel in the highlights,’ he wrote.
‘I married my best friend, and our daughter will be joining us in a few short months.
‘Starting 2021 as a husband and a dad is incredible and I’m ready for absolutely anything the year has in store for us.’
