Nine moves MAFS special to go up against two rival network premieres

Nine moves Married At First Sight special to go up against rival network premieres of both Holey Moley and The Amazing Race

The Married At First Sight Grand Reunion will take place the same time as Seven’s Holey Moley and the return of The Amazing Race Australia.

Less than one week after Seven announced its premiere date for its mini-golf series, Channel Nine have decided to bring forward the second part of the MAFS special.

The most memorable brides and grooms will revisit the infamous dinner table and tell-all confession couch as they gather for the first time since leaving the show.

TV rating wars: Nine has confirmed the upcoming Married At First Sight reunion special will go up against Seven’s Holey Moley and Ten’s The Amazing Race

The not-to-be-missed television event will now air over two consecutive nights, January 31 and February 1, and see favourites including Martha Kalifatidis, Cyrell Paule, Ines Basic, and Jessika Power all return to the show.

The second part of the special, originally scheduled to air February 7, will see the show’s returning brides and grooms sit down with experts, Mel Schilling and John Aiken, to discuss what they’ve been up to since leaving the experiment.

Holey Moley and The Amazing Race will both premiere on February 1, and will also compete with Nine’s Australian Open, which will begin on February 8th.

A new preview for the upcoming two-part MAFS special released on Saturday, shows a distraught Jessika is shown in tears the night after an altercation with Cyrell.

In another scene, Cyrell appears to take a swipe at the stunning blonde with a cryptic threat.

‘What I love about reunions, is you can’t hide behind your Instagram,’ she says.

Later that night, Cyrell was the one in tears after claiming that something was said about her son, Boston.

Mike Gunner is also seen getting into the drama, at one point screaming across the table, ‘You’ve upset everyone and you know it!’

Pictures taken shortly after the reunion was filmed showed Jessika in tears after a tense dinner party clash with rival Cyrell.

Things are believed to have gotten so bad between the warring brides that wine was tossed across the table and a water pitcher was almost thrown.
