Karl Stefanovic didn’t hold back when he interviewed Married At First Sight groom Sam Carraro live on the Today show on Wednesday.
The 46-year-old took a swipe at Sam after the clothing brand owner admitted on MAFS that his boisterous new bride Coco Stedman wasn’t his ‘cup of tea’.
Karl fired up in defense of Pilates instructor Coco, telling her husband: ‘Is it any wonder you can’t find a partner when you judge them within two minutes?’

As he introduced Sam to viewers, Karl said he was ‘angry’ at his reaction to bubbly Coco, 30, whom he described as ‘fantastic’.
He then said he had a ‘problem’ with Sam’s dismissive attitude.
‘I have to say, I don’t know who put them together,’ Karl began.
‘I’m a little bit angry about all of this… They matched Sam up with Coco, who I think is an out and out personality… I think she’s fantastic!’

He added: ‘Sam her bloke, clearly doesn’t think so and well I’ve got a problem with him… he joins us now, morning Sam.’
As the interview began, Karl asked his guest: ‘What’s your problem with Coco?’
‘There’s no real problem with her, when I first met her she was very out there and very extra and it just sort of caught me off guard,’ Sam, 32, replied.

Sam repeated that Coco wasn’t his ‘cup of tea’, which prompted Karl to lash out.
‘Is it any wonder you can’t find a partner when you judge them within two minutes?’ the breakfast TV host asked pointedly.
‘Oh, not necessarily…’ Sam replied, before Karl interrupted: ‘It’s a problem for you though, isn’t it?’
Sam laughed off the question, and said: ‘Listen to Karlos… He’s having a go at me and I love it.’
Karl then backed down and told Sam he and Coco were his ‘favourite couple’ and thanked him for being such a good sport.

On her way to the her wedding, the bride showcased her wild personality and appeared overexcited at the possibility of meeting her dream husband.
‘It’s go time, baby! It’s time to meet my husband,’ she yelled out in excitement.
‘I don’t know what to say when I walk up to him… “Hey, I’m Coco, just like a chocolate milkshake, only crunchy,”‘ she added with a laugh.

Coco said that while she understood it wasn’t going to be a completely perfect match, she believed in ‘vibes at first sight’.
While exchanging vows, Coco joked that she ‘should have just written out WAP’, referencing Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s raunchy hit single.
But despite leaving Sam dumbfounded, Coco said she was happy with how the ceremony went.

‘I can tell she’s going to be very loud, you know she’s a little bit different to what I’m used to. I’m a little bit thrown by her,’ he told producers.
‘What I like about her is that she seems to be very easygoing and has a personality,’ he continued.
Off camera, a producer asked why he was feeling ‘out of his comfort zone’, to which he said: ‘Do you want me to be brutally honest?’
‘I don’t want to look like an a**hole,’ Sam said, changing the tone of the conversation.
‘I’ve just met her. She might be a really lovely person, but she’s definitely f**king extra and out there. She’s not my cup of tea,’ he continued.
