Italian model Fabio Lanzoni leaves The Morning Show host Kylie Gillies outraged as he says Australian women ‘are more domesticated’

The Morning Show host Kylie Gillies was left visibly affronted when model Fabio Lanzoni, known as the king of ’90s romance novel covers, shared his controversial views on Australian women.

The presenter, 53, looked shocked when Fabio said he wanted to marry an Aussie woman because ‘they are more domesticated’ than Americans and Europeans.

The 61-year-old made the bizarre admission after Kylie’s co-host Larry Emdur asked him: ‘We understand your single. Is that right?’

‘Yes and actually I’m coming to Australia because it is very well known for the most deadly snake but also the most beautiful women in the world,’ Fabio replied.

He then raised eyebrows by describing Australian women as ‘domesticated’.

‘Everyone in the world knows they are down-to- earth, beautiful, very domesticated. The best thing for a man,’ he said.

‘What do you mean “domesticated”?’ asked Kylie, as Larry winced beside her.

‘You are real women,’ explained the ageing Italian-American heart-throb.

A stunned Kylie asked: ‘But you don’t expect us to be in the kitchen with an apron on. That’s not what you mean by domesticated, is it?’

He went on to explain: ‘No. I mean you really know how to take care of a man.’

Fabio was one of the world’s most famous male models in the 1980s and ’90s, and is perhaps best remembered for gracing the covers of bodice-ripping romance novels.

He appeared as a strapping alpha male on books such as a Gentle Rogue, Viking, Pirate and Comanche, and signed copies of these book fetch hundreds at auction.

A shocked Kylie responded: 'What do you mean, "domesticated"? You don't expect us to be in the kitchen with an apron on, that's not what you mean by domesticated, is it?'
