Zoe Marshall shares a throwback photo with husband Benji

They’ve been married for eight years, but there’s no sign of slowing down for podcast host Zoe Marshall and her NRL player husband Benji.

Posting to her Instagram on Thursday, the 36-year-old shared a sweet throwback photo of the couple during their younger years.

In the picture, which she said was the first photograph of the pair together, the two smiled while the former West Tigers star sat with his arm over the shoulder of his partner.

Young love: Zoe Marshall and her NRL player husband Benj shared a sweet throwback photo to Instagram this week

‘Our first photo together. I remember this night. I was trying to act boujee and wanted to drink Moët when everyone was having cruisers – you entertained my ridiculousness and got it for me,’ she began.

‘You still do entertain my ridiculousness. You had terrible hair (I named it the peacock) and I was so drawn to you. I wanted to love you so bad. And I wanted you to love me.

She also touched on the challenges they have faced over the years, explaining that ‘three break ups later (ghosted me twice) and a heap of therapy over a decade’ the two are in a great stage of their life as they await the arrival of their second baby.

‘We are on the brink of our next transition. A baby girl. I know you’ve wished for her forever,’ she added.

Growing family: 'Now we share a world with Fox and Weetbix and I’m confident with this next stage because you have my back,' she wrote about her growing family. Pictured, Benji and Zoe with their three-year-old son, Fox

‘I watched you sleep last night and my heart burst. I got to love you and you loved me back. Now we share a world with Fox and Weetbix (babies name by Fox) and I’m confident with this next stage because you have my back.

‘Sorry to be mushy it’s the hormones. Back to regular programming now. @benji6marshall,’ she completed the heartfelt letter.

In February, she spoke to The Daily Telegraph about her pregnancy, explaining that morning sickness has been leaving her feeling unwell and unable move or leave home for four months.

'It is very complex': The mother-of-one, who is 27 weeks pregnant, noted that morning sickness can also weigh on the mental health of an expectant mother in the early stages of pregnancy. Pictured during her first pregnancy

‘It is pretty debilitating and no one talks about that part because we should be grateful and sickness is a sign of a healthy baby,’ she said.

‘You are sensitive because for women like myself who have suffered to fall pregnant or even miscarried, to then hear someone say how hard it is, I get the two sides of the coin.’

‘But if you are wanting to throw up all day apart from when you are asleep, it is a very heavy energy to not share. It is very complex,’ she added.

The happy news comes after Zoe revealed in April she’d suffered a devastating miscarriage in late 2019.

She explained that Benji, 35, had asked her not to announce her pregnancy too early because the emotional impact of losing a baby in 2019 had ‘rattled him’.

‘We had a loss around this time last year. I think the impact of that on me really rattled him. He’s private in general but didn’t want me to share.’

Zoe married Wests Tigers star Benji at a private estate in Byron Bay in 2013.
