Greenlit in June 2020 and directed by Michael D. Ratner, the four-part documentary series ‘showcases the singer’s personal and professional journey over the last three years, including her near-fatal overdose and subsequent recovery.

Lovato is poised to drop her seventh studio album — Dancing with the Devil … the Art of Starting Over — on April 2. It will be her first studio album since 2017’s Tell me You Love Me. T

he title track — Dancing With The Devil — will be released on March 26 and serve as the first single to the upcoming project.

Referring to the overdose, her substance abuse, and mental health struggles through her young life, the Sober singer compared her resiliency to that of a cat with nine lives: ‘I’ve had a lot of lives, like my cat. You know, I’m on my ninth life.’

The COVID-19 pandemic hit just weeks into filming, but the cameras continued to roll, which help capture the unique moment in time, and shine a light on mental health issues.

‘I think a key takeaway in this film is really just it’s okay not to be okay and seek help if you can. And not everybody is going to have a paid team of support, but you don’t necessarily need that,’ Ratner revealed to CNN.

‘You need somebody that you go to for comfort and have people you trust that have your best interests.’
