Jenni Falconer reveals she was robbed by ‘boys on bikes’ who pushed her over and grabbed her phone while she was out running in London

Jenni Falconer has revealed she was ‘pushed over’ and robbed while out for a run in central London last weekend.

The presenter, 45, explained that she had paused in Parliament Square to check a text message when the thugs made off with her mobile.

After trying to chase the group herself, Jenni was helped by some police officers who heard her shouting and managed to retrieve the phone.

Shocking: Jenni Falconer has revealed she was ‘pushed over’ and robbed while out for a run in central London last weekend (pictured leaving the Global Radio Studios on Thursday)

She told The Sun: ‘These boys on bikes came up to me, pushed me and grabbed my phone. I chased after them but I was never going to catch them on their bikes.’

Luckily for Jenni, a few police officers were nearby and heard her shouting after the boys in an effort to get them to stop.

Jenni explained: ‘[The officers] chased after them, and I got my phone back! I want to say a massive thank you to those police officers. I feel very lucky.’

MailOnline has contacted Jenni’s representative for further comment.

Jenni, who is the face and voice of fitness app Start 2 Run, is often seen enjoying a run around the capital and regularly shares her outings on Instagram.

She took to social media on Friday while out for a walk in the mild weather as she’s currently suffering from an injury which means she can’t run as usual.

And last year she even suffered a stress fracture on her left foot during training for the virtual London Marathon, meaning she had to abandon her plans.

Jenni is not the only star to have discussed being robbed on the streets of London in recent weeks, with Robert Rinder also revealing he was targeted in March.

The TV legal star offered a reward for the recovery of his mobile phonen after he was mugged, saying he was targeted by three boys wearing balaclavas on bicycles in South Hampstead.

Writing on Twitter, Rinder, 42, revealed: ‘I’ve just had my phone grabbed out my hands by 3 boys wearing balaclavas on bikes (Finchley Road & Canfield gardens).

‘They laughed as I shouted to drop it. I’m in shock but am insured & privileged. Others are less lucky. Help me find these people & stop them (financial reward).’

A Scotland Yard spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘Police are investigating after receiving a report of a theft at approximately 20.40 hrs on Wednesday, 24 March on Finchley Road.

‘Three males dressed in black approached the victim and took his mobile phone.

‘Enquiries are on-going. No arrests at this early stage.’
