Dreams come true! Margot Robbie has told how she once wrote to director Quentin Tarantino to tell him she’d love to be in his films before appearing in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood

Margot told the publication: ‘When I got the chance to work with Quentin Tarantino [on 2019’s Once Upon A Time in Hollywood] I was so excited.

‘He is one of the all-time great directors – and I wrote him a letter telling him I’d love to be in one of his films.

‘Once on set, I made sure I soaked up all the knowledge from him that I could. If you want something, ask for it – the worst people can say is no.’

Elsewhere during the chat, Margot discussed her favourite food indulgence, and said: ‘Food is a big thing for me. I love burgers and fries, which I’ll order with a pint of beer.

‘In the US, my favourite meal is a double truffle burger from the American chain Umami Burger: it comes with a truffle cheese fondue, truffle aioli and truffle glaze.’

‘But back when I called London home, I loved the Mexican restaurant and bar La Bodega Negra in Soho. Everything I ate there was amazing – and they whip up the best margarita I’ve ever had anywhere.’

The I, Tonya star also touched on her struggles sleeping and how she winds down after a busy day at work before bed.

She said: ‘I’ve always found it hard to switch off and go to sleep at the end of the day, especially if I’ve been working, so I make my bedroom as sleep-friendly as possible.

‘I’ll put on a face mask, light some nice soothing scented candles and play relaxing music. And if I’ve had a particularly tough day, I’ll run a bath with lots of bubbles and enjoy a cold beer while I soak. Bliss.

The film star never looks anything other than picture perfect and also discussed what an everyday food diary would look like for her.

She said: ‘Breakfast is usually porridge, and during the morning I’ll have an immunity-boosting smoothie. I’ll normally have a chicken salad for lunch, and for dinner I’ll tuck into a tuna steak with sweet potato.

‘Throughout the day, I’ll sip on tea – I’ve been obsessed with it ever since I lived in the UK.’

‘I found boxing sessions and fighting practice for Suicide Squad really fun, but quickly realised I wasn’t so much a fan of lifting weights.

When I’m not preparing for a role, I prefer to do workouts I really like, such as dance classes or playing tennis with friends. I also really got into Pilates when I moved to LA [in 2013] and always feel a lot better after a good stretch.’
