McGregor revealed that The Mandalorian, which followed Pascal’s title character, a mysterious bounty hunter, ‘pulled me back into the Star Wars world, in a way I didn’t expect. It blew me away how much I loved it.’

Pascal added that he’s not the best at keeping secrets, which was challenging on such a secretive show, but he managed to keep Baby Yoda under wraps.

‘That may literally be the very first secret that I’ve ever kept. Don’t share anything personal with me!’ Pascal joked.

He added the show has, so much seriousness around leaked information, and I find it all just a bit too much.’

Pascal added that he normally tells his family everything, though this time he didn’t in regards to Grogu.

‘I didn’t even know what his name was going to be until the second season, but I could just tell that it was going to have such an impact,’ Pascal added.

The show follows his title character as he discovers Grogu, which is set five years after The Return of the Jedi.

While he knows nothing about this young creature, he forms a bond with him and goes on a quest to protect him and learn more about him.

‘When I saw the image of this thing, and started reading the scripts and everything, I didn’t want to compromise that in any way. It was easy to not talk about it because it was like, “Nah, I want this to work,”‘ Pascal added.

He also said that Grogu is portrayed through, ‘these incredible puppets,’ while McGregor, who starred alongside the original Yoda in the prequel trilogy, revealed he acted alongside a much bigger puppet.

‘It was extraordinary, because I acted with him. I couldn’t believe I was acting with Yoda,’ McGregor said.

‘Then they replaced him for our second film and our third film with the digital version of him, and it’s not nearly as endearing,’ McGregor said.

‘Also, we know Yoda as a puppet. We know him from the original movies as a puppet. So when it was suddenly computer-generated, it didn’t feel like Yoda to me anymore. It was interesting that it went back to an actual puppet with your series,’ he added.

Production started on both The Mandalorian Season 3 and Obi-Wan Kenobi back in April, though it’s unclear when both shows may debut.
