Blake Shelton performs his hit song Minimum Wage live from Nashville

Blake Shelton helped celebrate America’s birthday by performing his hit song Minimum Wage live from Nashville as part of NBC’s Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular.

The 45-year-old singer was just one of the numerous performers for the two-hour special, hosted by Renée Elise Goldsberry and Ryan Eggold.

Shelton was joined by Black Pumas, Coldplay, OneRepublic, Reba McEntire, Jonas Brothers, Marshmello, Allyson Felix, Simone Manuel, Tatyana McFadden and Jessica Long.

Shelton rocked out in a long-sleeved black dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up as he played  his acoustic guitar.

He also wore dark jeans for his performance of Minimum Wage, as he was accompanied by his band.

Minimum Wage is the second single from his 12th studio album Body Language, which was released in May.

Shelton made headlines on the 4th of July also after news broke that he finally tied the knot with his longtime fiancee Gwen Stefani.

The couple, who started dating in 2015, got engaged in October 2020, with the couple tying the knot at Shelton’s ranch in Oklahoma.

It was reported last week that they applied for their marriage license and were set to tie the knot in mere days.

The two-hour show featured performances from all across the country, kicked off with a New York City performance by Coldplay. 

The band fronted by Chris Martin returned to perform another song, Higher Power, later in the show. 

Higher Power is the band’s latest single from their forthcoming ninth studio album which doesn’t have a release date at this time.

Other performers included Reba McEntire, who performed from the Grande Ole Opry in Nashville.

The Jonas Brothers were joined by music producer Marshmello for a medley of songs including Cool and Leave Before You Love Me. 

Black Pumas performed their hits Colors and Black Cat from the Stubb’s Waller Creek Amplitheatre in Austin, Texas.

One Republic performed Counting Stars from Rockefeller Center in New York City during the two-hour special.

The two-hour special, which also featured special messages from Alec Baldwin and Jeff Goldblum, was capped off by an impressive 30-minute fireworks display.

The fireworks were set off from massive barges on the Hudson River which dazzled the onlookers in New York City.
