Christina Haack says psychedelic experience smoking TOAD ‘reset’ her brain before meeting new beau

Christina Haack has revealed how her experience getting high off a psychedelic toad helped her ‘reset’ her brain before meeting new boyfriend Joshua Hall.

The Flip Or Flop star, 37, opened up about her experience along with a sweet shot from her vacation to Mexico with Hall, telling her 1.6million followers: ‘I met Josh when I wasn’t in a state of fear or fight-or-flight.’

And it definitely seemed like the mother-of-three had a new perspective on life as she adventured around a natural swimming hole in Tulum with her new love on Thursday.

During the swimming trip the HGTV favorite slipped her fit figure into a pink swimsuit which put her flat abs and long legs in the spotlight.

She and Hall, a realtor, couldn’t hide their love as they held each other while wading in the cool waters.

Ever the risk-taker, Haack was seen taking a dive from a rocky cliff high above the pond. And later they were seen putting on life-vests for another aquatic adventure.

After spending the afternoon swimming, the couple sat on a nearby bench and cuddled close.

Christina, who recently divorced second husband Ant Anstead, opened up about the couple’s unbelievable connection while sharing an snapshot of the lovers during their vacation.

In her caption she wrote about her non-traditional approach to self-healing, telling fans: ‘I met Josh when I wasn’t in a state of fear or fight-or-flight.’

Her journey included taking ‘time off social,’ and hiring a ‘spiritual coach,’ as well as smoking a psychedelic substance drawn from ‘Bufo toad,’ which she said ‘basically reset my brain and kicked out years of anxiety in 15 mins.’

Bufo toad, commonly known as Colorado river toad or the Sonoran desert toad, secretes a powerful venom which can be harvested and smoked to achieve a high.

The effects include a ‘warm sensation, euphoria, and strong visual and auditory hallucinations,’ that are said to be similar to the effects of ayahuasca, a brew used in South American spiritual practice.

Finding herself in a brand new headspace, Haack was ready for love again, writing: ‘When we met this past spring, the synchronicities hit us so hard and fast they were impossible to ignore.’

But she was wary of the attention their relationship would face, saying ‘I felt immediately crazy protective over him and wanted to keep him for myself and get to know each other before the tornado (media attention) hit.’

Now that the relationship is public, Haack warned fans and photographers to stop ‘looking for dirt and drama’ and give the couple privacy they deserve. 

‘I may be a bit crazy and I’m definitely not perfect but I will never live my life based on other peoples judgments or opinions,’ she explained, adding: ‘We pride ourselves on never judging others and always wanting others to be happy and we wish others would have the same respect.’

‘Josh doesn’t have social media, but I want to thank him for whisking me away on a romantic tropical vacation he planned entirely on his own.’

Declaring things official, the blonde concluded: ‘So yes “another relationship” and guess what. I’m 38 -I’ll do what I want.’

Not much is known about Hall, but it was uncovered by numerous outlets that the hunk was a former police officer and now works in real estate, which Christina is plenty familiar with.

He is currently based in Austin, Texas and works for a successful realty firm in the area. 

Christina’s new relationship comes right after her ex husband Ant went public with his relationship with actress Renee Zellweger. 

Haack called it quits with Anstead in September 2020 after less than two years of marriage, something she shared regretfully in a lengthy statement published to Instagram at the time.

‘Ant and I have made the difficult decision to separate. We are grateful for each other and as always, our children will remain our priority,’ wrote Christina of the pair’s divorce, which was officially finalized in June 2021. 

The former couple share one-year-old son Hudson, while Christina also has daughter Taylor, 10, and son Brayden, five, with ex husband and Flip Or Flop co-host Tarek El Moussa.

Christina and Tarek, who is currently engaged to Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young, divorced one another in 2018 after nine years of marriage, 

In late June, it was reported that Christina’s ex Ant had officially moved onto Academy Award-winner Renée Zellweger, just days after their divorce was finalized.

The 42-year-old British television personality reportedly ‘hit it off’ with the 52-year-old Chicago star as they filmed an episode of his upcoming Discovery+ series Celebrity IOU: Joyride in early June, as per People.

On Tuesday, Renee and Ant confirmed their budding romance by sharing a kiss during a romantic bike ride through Laguna Beach, where Ant is based.

Days prior, Renee was seen driving Ant and his 21-month-old son to grab lunch at a vegan café. Outside she seemed right at home cradling the toddler in her arms while leaning against the hood of the car.

Things are moving fast and furious with the couple after rumors emerged last week that the unlikely duo were dating.

Over the weekend they were seen looking close while attending an open air church service and Renee was even spotted at Ant’s Orange County home.
