Renee Zellweger and Ant Anstead passionately kiss outside a hardware store before a romantic retreat

Renee Zellweger and her new man Ant Anstead couldn’t hold back on their PDA on Thursday, even for a quick trip to a hardware store.

The 52-year-old Oscar winner and the 42-year-old television presenter looked totally loved up when they were seen dropping by a Home Depot to stock up on firewood.

Ant had his arms tightly wrapped around Renee as they strolled through the parking lot before he leaned in for a sweet kiss. 

The couple were dressed casually enough that they might have been planning to leave as soon as they got the firewood.

Renee had on a loose-fitting gray long-sleeve shirt, and she highlighted her age-defying figure and her toned legs in a set of black cropped leggings.

The Bridget Jones’ Diary star had her dirty blond locks tied back and covered up under a backwards Texas Longhorns baseball cap.

She added added a set of rust-colored trainers and had a thick black handbag slung across her torso.

Her hand that wasn’t wrapped behind Ant’s back was full with a blue water bottle and another slim metal canister.

She also had a gray scarf wrapped around her neck which she may have been using as a mask inside the store. 

Ant complemented her low-key look with a charcoal T-shirt and dark athletic shorts, plus black flip flops.

As they trudged across the parking lot, the TV star went from holding Renee’s hand to resting her arm over her shoulder and planting his hand directly over her chest.

After gazing sweetly into each other’s eyes, they kissed, and Ant later kissed the top of her head before they entered the home improvement store. 

The new couple kept their shopping trip quick and minimal and only purchased multiple bundles of firewood.

In order to decrease the possibility of spreading parasites and invasive species, it’s recommended that campers purchase firewood locally, rather than bringing their own from afar.

Afterward, they loaded up a rugged SUV, with Renee handing the bundles to Ant while he placed them in the trunk.

The two originally got to know each other while filming the new series Celebrity IOU Joyride, and a source told Us Weekly on Thursday that the couple are ‘happy’ to have met under such fortuitous circumstances.

‘[Ant is] excited about life and excited in general. Part of it can be because he’s dating Renee, but he definitely was excited about doing this project and he seems excited to do all the various projects he’s working on,’ said an insider.

They added that Ant is doing well at the moment.

‘You can tell he’s in a good spot in his life — he’s super happy. He seems like he’s on fire. He’s where he wants to be and is making things happen.’ 

Another insider claimed to People that the two had similar creative interests which helped make them the perfect fit. 

‘Sometimes two people just meet and click, and the timing is right. Renee is creative… and often goes for guys who think out of the box. She’s smart, thoughtful and always looking to expand horizons and nurture those around her.

‘Both of them are private and dislike public scrutiny, so they have that in common. He’s a creative guy with lots of interests, and she likes to write and produce, so they have things to talk about when together.’

The couple began dating shortly after wrapping up their Discovery+ series, though they’ve tried to keep the new relationship under the radar.

Renee has been keeping up a simpler pace over the past year following her Best Actress Academy Award win for the critically acclaimed biopic Judy, in which she transformed herself into Judy Garland later in her life. 

As Ant has been settling into his new romance, his ex-wife Christina Haack is also moving on with a new partner.

The Flip Or Flop star, who has been enjoying a romantic vacation in Tulum, Mexico, with her new boyfriend Joshua Hall, a realtor.

Christina was seen revealing her slim figure in a hot pink bikini while swimming in a forested area with her beau.

In a recent Instagram post, the HGTV favorite revealed that she had recently smoked psychedelic toad venom, which she said had ‘reset my brain and kicked out years of anxiety in 15 mins.’

Christina called it quits with Ant in September 2020 after less than two years of marriage, something she shared regretfully in a lengthy statement published to Instagram at the time.  

The former couple share one-year-old son Hudson, while Christina also has a daughter Taylor, 10, and a son Brayden, five, with her ex husband and Flip Or Flop co-host Tarek El Moussa.

Christina and Tarek, who is currently engaged to Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young, divorced one another in 2018 after nine years of marriage.
