The Bachelor vet Lesley Murphy’s daughter Nora is ‘starting to feel better’ but ‘still fighting’ after she was released from the hospital following a health scare.

On her Instagram account, Lesley, 33, was happy to reveal her daughter was back home after developing an infection that left her ‘gasping for air’ at 2AM.

‘After one night in the ER and another one in the hospital, we are home!!! ‘ Lesley announced on Instagram on Sunday. ‘What a crazy 36 hours, and this super crouper (as our nurse affectionately calls her) is still fighting. It’s the worst feeling watching my baby struggle to breathe.’

‘I’m always here to share not only the cute, smiley photos but also the really challenging times in case it helps anyone else. As a new mom, I had no clue what was happening at 2am early Saturday morning. Thank you to everyone here for your well wishes and prayers as well as to the amazing medical staff at Arkansas Children’s.

‘Not one bed is open on the infant/toddler floor, and every single one is full for respiratory issues. Stay safe out there, summertime sickness is upon us. #home.’

Lesley took her daughter to the pediatrician several days earlier when the tot started experiencing ‘the same symptoms as her last ear infection.’

‘Both ears were clear, RSV test came back negative, but she did have a sore throat,’ Lesley said.

Things got progressively worse as the night continued.

‘Around 9pm she started developing this really loud barking cough. By midnight, her breathing seemed slightly shallow but figured that was just the congestion building. At 2am she woke up gasping for air. It was a scary 14 minutes to the ER. By the time we were at check in, her breathing wasn’t as labored so my nerves calmed a bit. We got in a room and four doctors surrounded us trying to get a diagnosis.

‘Croup, an upper airway infection that blocks breathing and comes with a bad cough. He mentioned bronchitis at some point, too. After breathing treatments and steroids, the doctor decided to admit us to the hospital. That was at 8am. We’re still waiting for a space to open up so that we can all be a bit more comfortable up there.’

‘Nora is nowhere near 100 but she’s an Aussie battler and will get through it!’ Alex continued.
