Maggie Gyllenhaal, 43, makes an elegant style statement in Cannes

Maggie Gyllenhaal looked stunning as she attended the annual Mayor’s Lunch, during Cannes Film Festival on Thursday.

The Donnie Darko star, 43, looked simply sensational in a bold orange gown with an intricate draped detailing at the shoulder and straight shape. 

She was oozing elegance in the highlighter-bright ensemble, with the sensational cut making a statement all its own thanks to the chic shoulder detailing.

Maggie looked incredible for the outing as she sashayed through the event in the bold dress which was expertly cut to her lithe physique. 

Maggie is part of the jury and will be choosing the winners alongside by a nine-member Jury, which also includes Spike Lee, Song Kang-Ho, and Melanie Laurent.

The gongs will be handed out at the end of the Festival on July 17, with films by Leos Carax, Wes Anderson, Sean Penn, and Paul Verhoeven all in the running.

Maggie is an Academy Award-nominated actress, producer, writer and director, beginning her career appearing in the cult favorite Donnie Darko in 2001).

She starred in a breakout role in 2002’s Secretary, followed by Sherrybaby in 2006.

Both of these performances saw her nominated for a Golden Globe.

Further credits include World Trade Center (2006), The Dark Knight (2008), Crazy Heart (2009). The latter earned the actress her first Oscar nomination.

She has also worked on The Honourable Woman (2014), The Deuce (2017), The Kindergarten Teacher (2018) and recently adapted and directed her first feature film, The Lost Daughter.
