Guess who! British-born Australian actress known for her eclectic film roles is unrecognisable in a throwback photo taken as a teenager

She’s the British-born actress who began her career Down Under after relocating to Australia at the age of 14.

In 1986, the 52-year-old made her debut in Aussie drama film For Love Alone.

And in 2013, she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in The Impossible.

Guess who! She’s the British-born Australian actress known for her eclectic film roles – but would you recognise her in this throwback photo taken as a teenager

Of course, the woman in the photograph is none other than Naomi Watts.

In the image, a teenage Naomi is wearing a white T-shirt and red shorts while sitting at the front of her home.

‘I was clearly working hard on my ‘80s Farrah Fawcett hair,’ she captioned the photo.

Naomi began her career Down Under but now lives in Manhattan.

In January, the actress released her new film Penguin Bloom, which is based on the true story of a paralysed woman’s life-saving relationship with a magpie.

In December, during an interview with Channel Seven’s Sunrise, Naomi spoke of the lengths the filmmakers went to in order to tell Samantha Bloom’s story in the ‘most authentic’ way possible.

She said it was incredible working alongside – and portraying – the ‘extraordinary woman’ who struck up an unlikely friendship with a young and wounded magpie after an accident in Thailand left her paralysed from the chest down.

Naomi shares sons Sasha, 13, and Kai, 12, with ex-partner Liev Schreiber, 53, with whom she split in 2016, after 11 years together.

She is now in a relationship with actor Billy Crudup, 52, and Liev has moved-on to date the much younger actress Taylor Neisen, 27.

Speaking to UK’s The Sunday Times back in 2019, Naomi said successful co-parenting with Liev is an ‘absolute priority’.

‘Having a good relationship has always been our endgame, and we’ve put a lot of energy and effort into making that so,’ she explained.
