Shaughna Phillips assures that it was poor dress choice that her body looked ‘podgy’ on Aftersun

Shaughna Phillips told fans that a poor dress choice meant she looked ‘podgy’ on Sunday’s episode of Aftersun, after being accused of editing her images.

The Love Island star, 25, took to Instagram on Monday to reply to a comment on a bikini-clad photo, where a follower asked why her body looked different to how her form appeared on the ITV’s show’s sister programme.

She told the Instagram user that knew that she ‘wanted to scream’ when she saw Aftersun but explained her dress choice and why her body didn’t look the same was  because she didn’t have time to rearrange her dress.

Shaughna has spoke at length previously about editing images and this time responded to comments from a fan after her latest TV appearance. She penned: ‘Honestly I saw aftersun the next day and wanted to scream’

The TV personality explained that because she was sitting down the red ruched dress didn’t look as good as it could have done if she was standing.

She went on: ‘I was wearing a ruched dress that is fab for standing or dancing but sitting down not so good…

‘Also as it was live tv we literally watched England’s last penalty and then ran on set ready to go live, I wasn’t able to look in a mirror or fix my dress’

She continued to say that it was a rush before the show started rolling, writing: ‘I wasn’t able to sit down and reposition my dress to look more flattering, it was literally run, sit down and action!

‘So I think this is actually a perfect example of same body, different clothes / different situation.

‘The time difference between aftersun and this picture is literally a week, I’m the same size in both (10/12), so let’s just live our livesssssssss!’

She concluded her body positive message: ‘So what if I look podgy in one picture, look skinny in one picture, look curvy in another, SO BLADDDYYYYY WHATTTTTTTT’.

She posted a picture of the comment on her story with the caption: ‘Also no hate to @s_j_leishman_ whatsoever! This isn’t a troll, just a genuine question which I completely agree with and think needs an explanation.’

She looked stunning in the image, wearing a brown and black patterned bikini while eating pineapple.

This comes after Shaughna was once again accused of editing her images on the photo sharing platform.

The social media influencer set the record straight on Sunday by denying that she’d photoshopped her body in her latest sun-kissed snap.

She shared a jaw-dropping picture with her 1.5million Instagram followers, flaunting her figure in a lilac bikini with the caption ‘hot girl summer is thirsty work’.

But not long after, she took to her story, sharing a before and after version of the original snap – stating that she had not altered how her body looks.

The notable difference in the before and after versions was the use of a filter but Shaughna also detailed another change she had made.

‘Just a lil message to the people saying I’ve photoshopped my last picture. My body is not edited, I’m pretty sure the sleuths that look for dodgy lines in the background will tell you [laughing emoji],’ she explained.

She continued by admitting which part of the picture she had tweaked.

‘I’ve deffo edited out the massive spot I’ve inherited on the side of my face though. I said a few weeks ago that there will be zero editing of my body from that moment on and I meant it x’.

The catalyst for Shaughna explaining herself could well have been a follower’s comment, which had suggested her use of Photoshop.

‘We just saw u on live t.v. on after sun, u don’t need the Photoshop pics. Ur beautiful in ur own skin,’ they wrote.

Shaughna responded by calling it ‘the best compliment ever’ because the picture is ‘10000% not photoshopped’.
