Lorde thrills fans as she goes makeup free during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers

Kiwi singer Lorde thrilled fans this week, as she refreshingly went makeup free during an appearance on late night American television. 

The 24-year-old, whose real name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, skipped the face paint to reveal her porcelain complexion while appearing on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Wednesday.

For her appearance, Lorde was dressed to the nines and absolutely stunned in a yellow plunging silk dress. 

The Royals singer, who is due to release her highly-anticipated new album Solar Power next month, turned heads in her slinky yellow dress. 

Lorde went braless in her gown, that featured a tie up over the bust and a small cut out over her stomach. 

She teamed the look with a chic pair of yellow and orange strappy shoes and wore her long locks out and over her shoulders and layered gold chains.  

During the TV appearance, Lorde sat for an interview and also performed one of her new songs off her upcoming album. 

She had a change of outfits for the performance, wearing a pink and white smock dress and sitting on a bed of flowers.

This week meanwhile, Lorde explained why she quit social media recently, despite having millions of followers and a large and dedicated fan base. 

She told Zane Lowe on Apple Music that she wants to be herself, and can’t really do that on social media.

‘I realised I was trying to come up with a funny Instagram caption and do a photo of me that looked cool that I would hope would get a certain amount of likes,’ Lorde said. 

‘It sounds obvious, but that’s cooked. For me, I’m not a girl that gets a bunch of likes. I’m who I am, and I’ve got to lean into that.’ 

She added that she’s grown up a bit, so doesn’t use social media as much.
