Ayda Field suns herself on speedboat in stylish white mini dress amid The X Factor being ‘axed’

Former X Factor judge Ayda Field appeared to be living a life of luxury as she boarded a boat with friends in Greece on Thursday, just hours after it was reported the ITV talent show had been ‘axed’.

The star, who appeared alongside husband Robbie Williams, 47 on the show’s 2018 judging panel, wore a bright white dress perfect for the warm weather before heading out to sea.

Ayda seemed in good spirits as she boarded the boat in the thigh-grazing broderie anglaise minidress which showed off her slender legs.

Ayda opted for comfort with a pair of white slides to match her frock as she carried a woven bag packed full of belongings over her shoulder.

Ayda accessorised with a simple gold chain necklace and protected her eyes from the bright daylight with dark sunglasses.

The television personality could be seen taking a leap into the boat as a crew member held her hand.

Once on board, the star shared a video of herself and her friends on the vessel as they sped across the water.

The clip began with a view over the back of the boat over the open ocean with the land far off in the distance.

They made waves as they travelled under a clear blue sky, with Ayda turning the camera onto herself and her friends to show them grinning from ear to ear.

On Wednesday evening, it was reported that Simon, 61, had pulled the plug on the ITV talent show – which launched in 2004 and last aired in 2018 – because he doesn’t want the programme to ‘become a bit of a joke.’

The X Factor format is still successful around the globe yet it seems Simon has accepted in the UK ‘the show has become slightly stale’ and so has reportedly decided to ‘shelve it’ for five years, but sources are claiming it’s now ‘unlikely’ to ever return.

A show insider told The Sun: ‘Globally, it is still a phenomenon and rakes in millions every year. But in the UK, there is no question it has become slightly stale. Simon remains at the top of his game and knows how to make a hit. He owns the rights to the show, and it’s his call — not ITV’s — whether or not he drops it.

‘Clearly the last thing he wants is for X Factor to fizzle out with a whimper and become a bit of a joke — especially in contrast to the show in its pomp.’

The source explained there is the option for Simon to return the talent show in 2023, which would see auditions take place next summer, however the entrepreneur is thought to be focused on his new game show Walk The Line.

MailOnline has contacted Fremantle for comment. An ITV spokseperson told MailOnline: ‘There are no current plans for the next series of The X Factor at this stage.’
