Sebastien Thill, hero of Sheriff Tiraspol’s astonishing win at the Bernabeu over Real Madrid on Wednesday night seems to have done just that. 

With the scores at 1-1, Thill smashed the winner past Thibaut Courtois to send the Moldovan minnows into raptures.

His story has been made all the more special an imaged emerging of a tattoo on his calf depicting him dreaming of Champions League success. 

The ink shows Thill’s back with his number 31 shirt on, a Luxembourg flag above it with a Champions League trophy in a dream bubble adjacent to that and a goal underneath. 

Now the 27-year-old has a memory to treasure forever at the top level of club competition. 

His goal capped off an incredible night for the Moldovan side, who were doing everything they could to stop Real scoring a late winner, before somehow finding one themselves. 

The ball dropped to Thill on the edge of the box and his swung a left foot at it, connecting perfectly to fade it away from Courtois’ outstretched hand and into the top corner.

The Champions League debutants from the breakaway region of Transnistria upset the apple cart in a big way on a night Thill and anyone associated with the team will never forget. 

Afterwards the match-winner said: ‘It’s the best and most important goal of my career, that’s for sure. 

‘We’re so happy. We played a really good game. The side were so brave with how we played and luckily enough I was able to score a bit of a stunner.’
