Brooke Boney and teammate Michael win Lego Masters Bricksmas special with incredible ‘Fairy School’ creation


Nine star Brooke Boney and teammate Michael won the Lego Masters Bricksmas special on Sunday night. 

The Today show entertainment reporter and her partner for the show took home the stunning red Lego trophy.   

The affable journalist and Michael managed to pull together an incredible ‘Fairy School’ creation which wowed the judge.

‘I can’t believe it! It’s so exciting!’ Brooke said excitedly, after she was named the winner. 

The pair were up against Scotty Cam and his teammate Jay, who built an incredible ‘Australiana’ set. 

Ryan ‘The Brickman’ McNaught said it was a difficult decision with him forced to ‘dig deep’ to find a winner.

‘So, there can only be one winner, and it came down to one thing that separated both of you two today,’ Ryan said. 

‘First off, playability. Unquestionably, both of you incorporated a super cool playable feature,’ he said.   

‘Pulling the roof off – unreal! Opening up the door, seeing all the levels – fantastic!’ he said of Brooke and Michael’s creation.

‘The creativity that you both showed – absolutely outstanding. Both were incredibly desirable,’ he added.

‘Never seen the Australiana done that way before, never seen a toad school before.’  

Ryan said he was actually looking for that X-Factor for the winner with the Toad school able to ‘pop’ with imagination.

‘The reason came down to making it stand out and pop that little bit more,’ he finished, before announcing it was Brooke and Michael.         

Host Hamish went on to say Brooke is the only Lego Masters contestant who has won every episode she has ever been on. 

‘That’s a pretty good record!’ she said, calmly.

Speaking to Nine Now soon after the finale Brooke was still floored by the win.    

‘I was so, so shocked that we were able to pull together this huge, quite beautiful thing from literally nothing,’ she said. 

‘I know that it sounds a bit cheesy, but to be able to imagine something and then bring it to life out of LEGO was a pretty special feeling.’
