West Ham ‘make cheeky £21m bid for Eden Hazard’ but Real Madrid turn down offer despite Belgian barely featuring for first team as president Florentino Perez demands at least £48m to part with flop record signing

Real Madrid have reportedly turned down a £21million bid from West Ham for Eden Hazard on the grounds that it was so low that it offended the LaLiga leaders.
Hazard joined Real in 2019 as their most expensive ever signing, costing an initial £89million from Chelsea with the total fee including bonuses and signing-on fees reported to be around £140million.
But his signing has been an unmitigated disaster due to a series of injuries and a subsequent drop in performances.

The Belgium forward has made a meagre 25 LaLiga starts in his two-and-a-half seasons in Spain.
And despite being relatively injury-free this campaign, he has struggled to convince Carlo Ancelotti of his worth, making only four starts in the Spanish top flight and one in the Champions League — the shock 2-1 defeat at home to Sheriff.
And according to Catalan network El Nacional, Real president Florentino Perez, who craved Hazard for so long, is now ‘fed up’ with the 30-year-old.
The Real chief is said to have given up faith that Hazard will ever turn his career round and is willing to let him leave.
Nonetheless, he was thoroughly unimpressed with the bid from West Ham for Hazard, with the report in El Nacional describing the £21million offer as ‘offensive’.
It is believed Perez is not willing to part with Hazard for any less than £48million after making such a huge outlay on the player two years ago.
The report also said Saudi-owned Newcastle are one of the few clubs that could afford a transfer fee for Hazard as well as his exorbitant wages, but the player does not want to move to St James’ Park out of fear the club could be relegated.
