‘I just can’t cope!’ Kerry Katona ditches extensions and dyed purple hair as she goes make-up free to showcase her natural locks and ‘grey hairs’
Kerry Katona has gone back to her natural hair colour after deciding to give her locks a break from dye and extensions.
The former Atomic Kitten singer, 41, took to Instagram on Saturday to share some make-up free selfies, saying she is giving her hair a break while rehearsing for pantomime in this year’s Sleeping Beauty at Oldham’s Queen Elizabeth Hall.
While Kerry admitted she’s happy not to wear make-up unless she’s working or going out, she was shocked at her dark natural colour and grey hairs after usually colouring it.

She wrote: ‘Good morning you beautiful people….so I’m in rehearsals for panto and thought I’d give my hair a break from the extensions and colour!!
‘But I just can’t cope!! Omg look at how dark my natural hair colour is not to mention all the b**ody grey hairs!!!
‘I’m not really one for wearing make up unless going somewhere or doing TV as it feels so good to give your face a break and let your skin breath!!

‘Mmmm forgot what the point of this post was now. Oh yeah, I’ve got loads of grey hairs and want my extensions back in.
‘But do I keep it purple which I just love! I like being that little bit different OR do I go back blonde????

Kerry’s make-up free post comes after the star claimed she was forced to sell her beloved pet parrot in order to make ends meet before finding fame and fortune with Atomic Kitten.
The TV personality is a household name thanks to her chart-topping achievements with the popular girl group, but she admits life was very different during her childhood years in Cheshire.
Kerry, who filed for bankruptcy in 2008 after accruing £417,000 in unpaid taxes, moved from one foster home to another as a consequence of her mother Sue’s deteriorating mental health and ongoing substance abuse issues.
And she admits times were so hard during her teens that pet parrot Alfie was sold just so she could raise the money to buy basic sanitary products.
She told The Times: ‘When I was 17 we sold my parrot, Alfie for £20 so I could buy some Tampax.
‘I had his gig paying £50 to dance in a nightclub and I got my period, so I needed sanitary towels, but we didn’t have the money, that was the last we heard for Alfie.’
