Playmaker Andreas Pereira has become the latest Manchester United star to decide to opt out of the new era under interim boss Ralf Rangnick and request a permanent move away.

The senior ranks at Old Trafford are aware that an overhaul is set to take place under the German, with Rangnick in charge of restoring the glory days at United and making the side a competitive force once again.

The 63-year-old has already set about assessing the squad and weighing up the futures of some players, in preparation for his longer term role as a senior consultant at the club following his stint as interim manager.

And now Pereira – who is currently on loan with Flamengo in Brazil – has gone public with his request to get out of the club as the upheavals begin.

‘My desire has always been to stay here at Flamengo, and now we are going to do everything,’ Pereira told ESPN via Metro.

‘We are going to talk to President Landim and Marcos Braz to make this possible. Of course, I have a feeling that I owe the fans a title.

‘As I told them, you can count on me, I’ll do my best so that next year we can come out with those titles there.’

Pereira’s words come fresh off the back of France star Anthony Martial making clear he wishes to depart United in the upcoming January transfer window.

The 26-year-old has been frozen out at United this season, making just two starts in 15 Premier League games and coming off the bench in five.

Martial’s agent Philippe Lamboley told Sky Sports News: ‘Anthony wishes to leave the club in January.

‘He just needs to play. He doesn’t want to stay in January and I will speak to the club soon.’

Barcelona have been credited with interest in Martial, with the cash-strapped Catalans making a surprise enquiry for the Old Trafford outcast.

Club officials from the Nou Camp reportedly flew to Manchester on a business trip last month, with football director Mateu Alemany and CEO Ferran Reverter among those who spoke to United to ascertain whether Martial would be available.
