MAFS: Cameron Merchant and Jules Robinson apologise for ‘horrendous’ TV appearance

Married At First Sight’s Cameron Merchant and Jules Robinson are forced to apologise for ‘horrendous’ TV appearance

Married At First Sight’s Cameron Merchant has apologised for his dreadful performance on The Weakest Link on Tuesday night.

The former professional cricketer, 37, shared a video to Instagram Stories while the Nine quiz show was airing and poked fun at his clueless answers.

‘On behalf of everyone, I want to apologise for the absurd and ridiculous, horrendous amount of questions that were answered that were wrong,’ he said with a laugh.

He also praised his wife, Jules Robinson, for winning the show by answering a single question right – which somehow made her the strongest link in her round.

‘Congratulations to my wife on winning The Weakest Link,’ he said.

‘Wow, that was an experience. I’m usually the guy on the other end watching TV going, “How do you not know that?” And unfortunately, I just happened to be that person. So I apologise to anyone.’

Jules was crowned the winner of The Weakest Link on Tuesday night after beating her husband.

She won the reality TV special, hosted by Magda Szubanski, after answering just one question correctly during the final showdown.

But fans were left unimpressed by the couple who got most of the answers wrong.

‘Who the hell are these people on The Weakest Link? So dim, it’s like they thrive on being wrong on simple questions,’ one viewer tweeted.

‘Just watched something by mistake, The Weakest Link… last 10 minutes the most embarrassing TV ever seen – them two empty heads wow,’ another agreed.

‘These are the easiest questions I’ve ever seen on this show and they’re getting them all wrong,’ a third wrote.

The only question Jules got right was, ‘Which American city is sometimes referred to as “Gotham” and “the city that never sleeps?”‘ with the answer being New York City.
