Kerry Katona slams trolls accusing her of faking car robbery as she admits to feeling ‘traumatised’

Kerry Katona has hit out at cruel trolls who have accused her of faking her car robbery.

The mum-of-five, 41, was left shaken and in tears on Thursday when her blue Range Rover was stolen in a shopping area in Oldham with her Christmas presents still inside .

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Kerry gave an update on the situation, admitting that she was ‘traumatised’ and ‘triggered’ by the theft as it brought back memories of a past burglary.

Speaking into the camera on her Instagram stories, an emotional Kerry spoke out against the plethora of ‘nasty comments’ she received since sharing the robbery news.

Many followers claimed she make the whole thing up and that the robbery was ‘convenient’ seeing as the £110,000 SUV was due to be raffled off, with fans paying £30 a ticket. 

She said: ‘To everybody with regards to the raffle, I’m really devastated about that. I’ve not heard back off the police yet. I was on the phone constantly to them yesterday.

‘I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m absolutely gutted, I really wanted to help change somebody’s life. Hopefully we’ll get it back.’

She went on to say of the remarks: ‘In this day and age everything that’s gone on with the hashtag be kind, I still can’t believe some of the nasty comments people go around saying.

‘I mean it’s a reflection on them as a person. It’s just really sad. I’m glad I’m strong enough to handle it.’

Some comments written on her post include: ‘So she sells s**t loads of raffle tickets for it then it conveniently gets nicked!!! That old [chestnut emoji]’

While another read: ‘That’s handy after the raffle.’

And a different user put: ‘Seems strange it’s stolen when it’s being raffled, let’s hope everyone get there money back.’

However, there were many fans who leapt to Kerry’s defence, offering her sympathies and offering to share her appeal to find the car. 

During the video, Kerry also emphasised that her car key fob was not taken and was still in the pocket when the vehicle was taken, explaining that police had told her these hacks were quite common. 

Meanwhile, the former I’m A Celebrity star told how the theft had left her very ‘traumatised’ as it triggered memories of her being robbed by masked men. 

She explained: ‘Just letting you all know that the reason I was so upset yesterday is that it was really traumatic to watch someone drive off with my car. I had my children with me, I didn’t know the area… it is just a car, everything in it is replaceable.

‘It’s just that I remember when I got burgled and three masked men came in my house and Heidi was only a baby, it just triggered me, brought loads of memories back.’

She continued: ”And I was angry as well over the fact that I’ve really hard, I’ve turned my life around and some dirty little scumbags who can’t be a***d to get a f*****g job go and nick my  car because they think that’s the easiest way to get money. 

‘It was really traumatic for my two little girls as well, they were heartbroken, absolutely heartbroken. I can’t believe I ran after them, what was I thinking?’  

It comes after the TV personality tearfully took to her Instagram stories shortly after the incident on Thursday to slam the ‘absolute b******s’ who stole her car and appealed to fans to call the police if they spot it.

Kerry also shared a further video on her grid, where she detailed chasing the thieves down the street after realising her Range Rover had been taken.

Filming herself in a JD Sports store at the Elk Mill Shopping Park, Kerry fought back tears as she told how her keys were still in her pocket as she popped inside to do further shopping with her daughters Heidi, 14, and seven-year-old DJ.

She sobbed: ‘My car has been stolen I’m in Oldham, I’m with Heidi and my daughter DJ. It’s a private reg with Katona.

‘If anyone sees it please phone the police, it’s got all Christmas presents in the back. It’s got a Louis Vuitton bag in the back, it’s got iPads in the back. So, if anybody finds it, please, please, ring the police.’

Raging at the robbers, she ranted: ‘Absolute b****rds who have done it, we come to do some shopping with the kids. We rang the police, I’m stranded. the lovely people in the shop are being so nice.

‘It’s a private reg with Katona, and it’s blue. Did you see me run after him? I just chased him…

She also revealed that she gave chase to the thieves as she desperately tried to get her car back, while sharing her shock that she was believed to have been targeted.

Speaking into the camera, she explained: ‘Just letting you know, me and the girls are absolutely fine. They have CCTV footage of it happening, I’ve been told that they were eyeing my car up on Sunday outside the hotel where I’m staying.’

Wiping away tears, she said: ‘I’ve been completed and utterly targeted, I feel absolutely violated! I just want to go home!’

She tearfully went on: ‘So if anybody sees my car… it’s got loads of presents in the boot, it’s got the kids iPads in there. Please please ring the police.’

Detailing the moment her car was stolen, she said: ‘We were at JD and I walked out and I saw… my engine start and my key… I had my key in my pocket, my key was in my pocket! 

‘And I left the kids and I just chased them, I chased them all the way to the top. Good job I didn’t get them – they could’ve had a knife or anything.

She added that she feels ‘really violated’ and added that ‘The kids are really shook up’ before appealing to her followers again to ring the police if they see her car.

The furious star concluded that it was an ‘absolutely horrible’ situation, before fuming at the thieves: ‘Dirty smelly little t***s! Get a proper f***ing job and earn your own b****** money you dirty, smelly t***s, that’s all I can say!’
