London studio flat where the bedroom is a MATTRESS squeezed into a CUPBOARD

A studio flat that comes with a tiny bedroom reminiscent to the cupboard under the stairs lived in by the fictional character Harry Potter is up for rent for £910 a month.

The ground floor flat, which is located in Hendon, Barnet, North West London, comes with a modern kitchen, a small living room furnished with a sofa and coffee table and a bathroom.

However would-be tenants will have to sleep in a single bed that is squeezed into a small cupboard if they wish to live here.

The bizarre set up, which is reminiscent of the cupboard under the stairs where Harry Potter is forced to sleep by his neglectful aunt and uncle, Vernon and Petunia Dursley, has been showcased on Zoopla by estate agents Jayson Russell.

An advert reads: ‘A spacious ground floor studio flat with wooden floors, separate kitchen, bathroom, storage space, gas central heating, located in Sunny Gardens Road – within walking distance to local shops and transport links.

‘Tenants with cars will be able to apply to Barnet for a parking permit charge will be based on the vehicles emissions. The flat is available February 22, 2022.’

After the property was featured online one woman slammed the strange layout.

She wrote on Twitter: ‘Ridiculously small apartments I found on Zoopla. This looks OK but apparently you sleep in the closet?’

Earlier this month Alexanders Lettings and Alexander Lets also put a small studio flat on the market for £875 per month.

The flat in Hanwell is fully furnished and comes with a communal garden, a living room and bathroom with a separate shower.

However buyers were surprised to see the single bed sat just a few metres away from the kitchen.

Also this month Twitter user Lieke, spotted a studio flat in West Kensington, London, which had a single bed sandwiched between the wall and the kitchen, with the sink and cooker within arm’s reach.

The social media user tweeted a photograph of the property and wrote: ‘Randomly browsing apartments on Zoopla for no reason and I came across this. London housing is such a joke.’

The £390 per month room boasts of being a fully-furnished ‘bedsit situated within a large Victorian house’, with a shared bathroom and its own kitchen.

The flat has attracted over 1,433 page views since it was first listed in November, however no one has rented the property which has a minimum letting of six months.

Aimed at students and professionals, the listing explains the tenant can expect on street parking, many shops, restaurants and gyms within walking distance.

The landlord claims the property is easily accessible to the M4, A4, A40 and Heathrow Airport.

They also add the flat is furnished with an oven, microwave and fridge/freezer and a range of units.
