Is this Daniel Johns’ new girlfriend?

Has Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns found love again?

The 42-year-old singer – who split from controversial model Michelle Leslie in 2019 after a tumultuous three-year romance – is rumoured to have recently started dating popular Melbourne DJ Lauren Mac.  

Just last week, glamorous brunette Lauren was spotted flying back home after  a whirlwind trip to Johns’ hometown of Newcastle. 

She is rumoured to have spent time at Johns’ home during her trip.  

Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia, a close friend of Johns said the rocker finds Mac’s independence and vivacious personality hugely appealing.

‘Daniel has had a lot of heartbreak over the years so it’s nice to see him happy once again. He adores Lauren and who knows she could be ‘The One’,’ they said.

The friend went on to say that Lauren is ‘head-over-heels’ with the ARIA award-winning musician.

‘Daniel is unlike anyone she’s met in the past and I know privately she has high hopes for this relationship. He’s a real catch and she knows it.’  

Johns and Mac both follow each other on Instagram and have been ‘liking’ each other’s photos dating back to July 2021.

Mac is Melbourne born and raised, and in recent years has established herself as one of the most in demand private event DJs in Australia and overseas.

She regularly plays her signature style of dirty disco and vocal house to massive crowds at large-scale events, weddings and fashion shows – and it’s understood that Johns – who still closely follows the music scene – is a big fan.

Like Johns, Mac is no stranger to the celebrity world, working alongside Jennifer Hawkins and Jake Hall, Chrissie Swan, Shane Crawford, Serena Williams, Elon Musk and Daniel Ricciardo.

On Monday, she performed at a private party at the Australian Open. 

As well as her globe-trotting DJ work, Mac also runs an entertainment agency with her business partner.

And in between her work, she still finds time to volunteer with local schools.

Mac did not return Daily Mail Australia’s multiple requests for comment. Johns has also been approached for comment in relation to this article. 

Over the years Johns has been unlucky in love with a slew of failed relationships, including his five-year marriage to pop princess Natalie Imbruglia, which ended in 2008.

It’s been two years since Johns dipped his toes into the dating pool. 

His last known partner was former model-turned-interior designer Michelle Leslie, and while there’d been talk of marriage the couple split in 2019 after three tumultuous years together.
