Daniel Dubois will be given his first shot at a version of the world heavyweight title this summer.
On Tuesday, the WBA ordered their ‘regular’ champion Trevor Bryan to make a mandatory defence of that belt against No 1 contender Dubois by the end of July.
The young Londoner is on the comeback trail following his only defeat, inflicted when he sustained a fractured eye socket during a British title fight against Joe Joyce.

Bryan, who retained his world title with a split decision win over Jonathan Guidry on legendary promoter Don King’s comeback show in Ohio on Saturday, has agreed to come to the UK to face Dubois.
The New Yorker promised Dubois promoter Frank Warren: ‘I’m going to start my overseas tour against your homie boy over there.’
This raises the prospect of Warren reuniting with his long-time 90 year old rival King – against whom he once lost a costly legal action but subsequently made peace – who was granted a license to share in Bryan’s next promotion on condition that he fights Dubois within 180 days.
Warren will be busy in the coming months, having just won the world record $41million (£30m) purse bid to stage Tyson Fury’s WBC world heavyweight title defence against Dillian Whyte.

That blockbuster is scheduled for April 23, probably in Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
The WBA’s Super World Heavyweight title is among the belts Olexsandr Usyk will defend in London in May in the rematch against Anthony Joshua, who he out-pointed in a huge upset last autumn.
