Natalie Imbruglia squeals with delight as she watches footage of her winning appearance on The Masked Singer UK – after she was unveiled as Panda


Australian pop star Natalie Imbruglia won the most recent season of The Masked Singer UK on Saturday night. 

To celebrate her win, the 47-year-old enjoyed a viewing party with a group of friends and shared video of the gathering to Instagram.

As footage of her unmasking as Panda played on a large wall-mounted TV, she giggled and squealed with delight.

Jumping up and down while the crowd on screen and in the room around her cheered, Natalie seemed truly chuffed. 

She wrote in her caption: ‘So there you have it.. I am Panda! Such fun… what a great experience and thank you to everyone on the show and to all who helped me keep the secret!’     

The songstress beat Charlotte Church, who was unmasked as Mushroom, in second place and Westlife star Mark Feehily, who was revealed to be Robobunny, in third place.

Natalie impressed judges Rita Ora, Mo Gilligan, Davina, Jonathan Ross and Joss Stone on the night when she sang Taylor Swift’s hit Blank Space, before performing a duet with comedian Jason Manford, who was Hedgehog in series one.  

Speaking after the unmasking Natalie said: ‘I just loved being Panda! I stayed in an American accent the whole time to hide it! 

‘I really thought Rita and Davina would guess as they know me! I got to make friends with a Mushroom and Robobunny. It’s just been great.’

'I did it for my son. He loves the character I chose. I also thought it would be fun to sing with a mask on, no need to spend hours in hair and make-up,' she revealed

‘I liked the idea of hiding my identity and putting on an accent to throw people off the scent. I guess it’s also an acting gig.’  

Asked if it was hard keeping it all a secret she added: ‘I found it quite hard as I’m a very open person. So, I had to create some interesting white lies about what I was working on and I had to avoid people which wasn’t hard as we worked long hours.’
