Europa Conference League round-up: Slavia Prague stun Fenerbahce in five-goal thriller and Dimitri Payet seals Marseille victory over Qarabag

Slavia Prague won 3-2 away at Fenerbahce in the first leg of their Europa Conference League knockout stage play-off tie on Thursday

Ibrahim Traore side-footed Slavia’s opener just before the interval but Dimitris Pelkas levelled coolly just before the hour.

Oscar Dorley’s spectacular lofted strike and substitute Ondrej Lingr’s low finish crowned a devastating three-minute spell for Slavia.

Ferdi Kadıoglu’s late, deflected curler gave Fenerbahce hope for the second leg.

Marseille defeated Qarabag 3-1 in France.

The Azerbaijan side rallied in the second period with Kady finishing off a neat move in the 85th minute. 

Dimitri Payet’s added-time strike sealed victory. 

PSV Eindhoven claimed a 1-0 win over Maccabi Tel-Aviv, thanks to an early goal from Cody Gakpo.

PSV’s young Dutch winger Gakpo received a through ball by Mauro Junior in the 11th minute and cleared a defender on the edge of the box before drilling a perfectly-placed shot into the bottom left corner to give the hosts the lead.

The Eredivisie side dominated the match but were not able to increase their advantage and will travel to Israel next week with a slim lead. 

Danish side Midtjylland beat PAOK 1-0 at home, Austrian club Rapid Wien had a man sent off but still managed to scrape a 2-1 win over Vitesse Arnhem and Partizan Belgrade claimed a 1-0 win at Sparta Prague.
