Jimuel landed a number of impressive stinging left jabs and hard overhand rights on his opponent throughout the fight.

It didn’t go all his own way though, as Rosales also got some good offence in during the fight.

The judges ‘ scorecards weren’t released after the bout, just confirmation that the son of legendary ‘Pac Man’ had got his career off to the best start possible.

Pacquiao Sr, who wasn’t able to attend the fight, congratulated his son in a post on Instagram.

He wrote: ‘Congratulations to my son @pacquiao.emmanuel on fighting and winning his first US amateur fight at junior welterweight! I’m so proud of you.’

Jimuel has taken inspiration from his father, representing the same Wild Card Boxing Club which was home to Manny for the majority of his career.

He also opted to go for the same trainer, Marvin Somodio, who seemed optimistic over the youngster’s chances going forward in boxing.

He said: ‘This is only his first amateur fight, but he showed me that he has heart. He’ll get better and stronger.’

Jimuel reportedly tried his hand with several career paths before boxing, including modelling and becoming a social media influencer.

But like others before him, he has decided to follow in the footsteps of a famous parent into the world of boxing.
