Ruby Tuesday Matthews sends herself questions during Instagram Q&A

She’s a major influencer with nearly a quarter of a million followers to prove it.

But Ruby Tuesday Matthews suffered a massive fail on Sunday when she was busted sending questions to herself during an Instagram Q&A with fans.

The social media faux pas was caught by the Celeb Spellcheck account before Matthews, 26, deleted the Instagram Story in question.

Whoops! Ruby Tuesday Matthews (pictured) suffered a massive influencer fail on Sunday when she was busted sending questions to herself during an Instagram Q&A with fans

In it, Matthews showed a snapshot of the questions she’d been asked by ‘fans’ that she had not yet answered.

However, two of the questions were clearly written by Matthews herself because they featured her handle ‘rubytuesdaymatthews’.

Both questions appeared to be set-ups giving the mother of two an excuse to plug electronics brands and furniture.

One of Matthews’ self-scribed questions saw the influencer ask herself, ‘[What is your] preferred brand of electronics that you have purchased for the new pad? How do you decide?’

She went on to use the question as a way to promote a particular brand of fridge, claiming ‘they legit last years and get the best ratings’.

However, Celeb Spellcheck was quick to point out Matthews had been the one to ask the question, as though setting herself up to promote the brand.

‘We all knew influencers did this,’ they captioned the post.

Matthews later returned to social media to deny she was being paid to endorse any particular brand or product.

‘FYI the brands I tagged in my Q&A were already items I purchased for full price,’ she clarified.

She then posted what she claimed was an EFTPOS receipt for the purchase, made at The Good Guys in Tweed Heads.

Matthews then accepted ‘full responsibility’ for asking herself a question in what was intended to be a Q&A for fans.

‘I often summarise and correct questions asked,’ she said.

The slip-up comes after Matthews and her fiancé Shannan Dodd bought a new home.

The model mum gave fans a glimpse inside her sprawling property last Wednesday.

One of Matthews’ sons was seen walking around the property in the footage, before she showed off the family’s new large backyard and patio.

She shares two sons, Rocket, four, and Mars, three, with her ex Ryan Heywood.

‘That feeling when you get the keys,’ she wrote on Instagram alongside the clip.

‘We took the boys to see the new house last week! We start work on it this week, I can’t wait for everyone to follow along and see what we do.’

Matthews is set to reveal what changes she will make to the home, but she will certainly have a good budget to work with.

The couple’s renovations will come after their upcoming wedding.

In January, she told fans in an Instagram Q&A that she and Dodd will marry in an intimate ceremony, but will at some stage host a large party with family and friends.

‘In a year’s time – like on our anniversary – we’ll have a massive party with absolutely everybody. We just really want the day to just be us and we’ll just have a big celebration later on,’ she said.
