An ‘inconsiderate’ driver forced a charity shop to stay closed for an entire day after the motorist blocked the front door with his parked car.
The silver Ford Fiesta was abandoned directly outside the entrance of the British Red Cross shop in Kings Heath, Birmingham on Sunday.
Volunteers said they were unable to open and the ‘silly’ motorist could have cost them sales of at least £200.
Staff are in the dark as to why someone would deliberately leave their car blocking the entrance to disrupt charity work.
West Midlands Police were contacted and officers logged the call – but no criminal action was taken as the driver had moved the vehicle after more than six hours.

Notes left by a volunteer and placed on the car’s windscreen said: ‘Leaving your car here has resulted in us not being able to open our shop today.’ Another note added: ‘A donation towards the shop’s loss of earnings would be greatly appreciated’

A note on the charity shop’s door read: ‘Sorry we are closed due to car blocking door.’
While notes left by a volunteer and placed on the car’s windscreen said: ‘Leaving your car here has resulted in us not being able to open our shop today.’
Another note added: ‘A donation towards the shop’s loss of earnings would be greatly appreciated.’
The shop’s manager Alex Sharp told BirminghamLive: ‘The car was there for a good five or six hours. It was parked directly in front of the front door.
‘It could have parked literally anywhere else we would have been able to open. There was nothing nearby. They must have chosen to park directly in front of the door – who knows why. It’s just so silly.

‘We called the non-emergency police number. We got a log number and were told to call back if it was still there, but it has since moved.’
He added: ‘We’ve had people park in front of the windows before for like five or 10 minutes when we’re open, but this is a whole new thing. I don’t get it.
‘You could squeeze past, but it wouldn’t have been convenient for most of our customers or anyone carrying something heavy wouldn’t have been able to get through.
‘We could have lost maybe £200 (in sales on Sunday). It definitely cost us money.’
