Up to seven people injured in brawl between rival motorcycle clubs involving 50 people Massachusetts

Seven bikers are stabbed after violent 50-man brawl erupted between rival motorcycle gangs close to Massachusetts clubhouse

Rival motorbike gangs clashed on Saturday afternoon in a small Massachusetts town resulting in a huge fight that left seven bikers stabbed. 

The violent melee, involving at least 50 bikers but where around 100 had gathered, some with weapons, broke out around 12:25pm in Fall River near the border with Rhode Island. 

Police have not identified the rival bike clubs involved in the fight. 

Officers only found out the true nature of what had been taking place when they arrived on scene.

‘There were some significant injuries mostly consisting of lacerations, punctures blunt force trauma stuff. Things you would expect to see in a brawl,’ Capt. Bardon Castro told 12 News. 

‘We’re still poring over video. It was a large number of people. We are assuming many of participants came from out of town,’ Castro said.

Four men who were injured in the fight were taken to Rhode Island Hospital while three others were transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. 

Police say all seven men suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

‘Bats, hammers, things like that. Mostly bludgeoning weapons, just fighting all over the street,’ jeweler Gilbert Costa said to WCVB, recalling what he had witnessed.  ‘Probably one of the worst things we’ve seen yet.’ 

Detectives from the Fall River Police Major Crimes Division are now investigating the fight. 

Investigators are currently interviewing witnesses and scouring surveillance footage in the hope of identifying those who were involved in the brawl.
