The Masked Singer judge Dave Hughes reveals the REAL reason Dannii Minogue won’t be returning for the new season

The Masked Singer Australia judge Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes has lifted the lid on Dannii Minogue’s exit from the franchise.

Hughesy, 51, said on his 2Day FM breakfast show on Tuesday he’d known for ‘quite some time’ that Dannii was calling it quits.

The comedian explained she was leaving due to scheduling conflicts with other TV commitments in Britain.

He also said she was busy with her fashion label.

‘Dannii revealed she was leaving the Masked Singer because of scheduling conflicts and her fashion label and her dating show she is doing in England,’ Hughesy said.

The projects mean she will have to be in Europe for the coming months, which rules out filming The Masked Singer in Australia.

The celebrity guessing game is set for a shake-up in 2022, with Dannii the second judge to announce their departure from the show.

Comedian Urzila Carlson confirmed on The Kyle and Jackie O Show last week that she will not be returning this year because she’ll be too busy on her comedy tour.

It comes after Dannii announced she was ‘thrilled’ to present a new gay dating show called I Kissed A Boy on BBC Three later this year.

The former X Factor judge has landed her ‘dream job’ playing Cupid as she helps 10 singletons search for Mr Right in Europe.

The eight-part series will see the contestants paired with their strongest match, but ‘everyone is a possible love interest’ so things can change quickly.

Dannii said: ‘There are millions of people in the UK looking for love.

‘And I believe love is for everyone. So I am so thrilled for a gay dating show to be entering the sea of other dating shows that have existed on TV for years.’

The singer added: ‘I have been a staunch ally of the LGBTQ+ community for as long as I can remember. My close friends know that my dream job title would be Cupid.

‘So this gives me that flutter-of-love feeling inside too, just to be a part of it. Let’s hope there is love, sealed with a kiss!’

Dannii also shared a casting call on Twitter, adding: ‘Having the opportunity to be a part of this show is giving me that flutter-of-love feeling.

BBC Three bosses think the program has ‘huge potential’.
