West Ham and Crystal Palace ‘join the race to sign Bristol City’s highly-rated midfielder Alex Scott’… but Premier League teams are ‘reluctant to meet the 19-year-old’s £20m valuation’

  • Alex Scott was linked with a transfer in January but move failed to materialise
  • The 19-year-old midfielder has continued to attract Premier League interest
  • However, West Ham and Crystal Palace are unwilling to pay £20m for Scott

West Ham and Crystal Palace are interested in signing Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott, according to reports.

The 19-year-old is a rising star in English football and has impressed with his performances for the Championship outfit this season.

Scott was linked with move away to the Premier League from Bristol City during the January transfer window but a transfer failed to materialise.

West Ham and Crystal Palace are thought to be the latest teams to show interest in the player ahead of the summer, according to The Sun.

Bristol City are keen to receive £20million for Scott but neither club are likely to meet that valuation.

Despite his young age, Scott has already made 78 appearances for City since joining from Guernsey in 2020.

He has also been capped by three of England’s youth teams having made his Under-20 debut earlier this season.

Scott has the ability to play several roles in midfield and has been praised for his ability on the ball and quick feet, with five assists so far this season.

But with Bristol City currently sat 15th in the Championship, a move away looks to be on the cards if a significant bid is received by the club.

Scott will return to action once again when City host Hull in the league next weekend.
