Geri Horner leaves husband Christian and daughter Bluebell to attend UK premiere of Beckham documentary as she snubs reunion with Victoria to promote her new book in New York

Geri Horner was without her family as she made her way into a New York TV studio on Tuesday – no surprise, considering they were on the other side of the Atlantic supporting her former bandmate Victoria Beckham at a premiere in London.

The Spice Girl appeared to snub the official launch of new Netflix series Beckham – a biographical look at former footballer David’s extraordinary life and career – albeit unintentionally, with its October 3 premiere coinciding with her current book tour.

Leaving husband Christian Horner and 17-year old daughter Bluebell to attend the O2 Arena spectacle in her absence, Geri, 51, was on hand to greet fans as she prepared for an appearance on Good Morning America.

Dressed in a stylish white co-ord, the British star drew quite a crowd outside the Manhattan venue, where she discussed her new children’s book, Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen.

Cream coloured platform boots completed the look, while her trademark strawberry blonde was casually styled with a simple side-parting.

In September, Geri took to Instagram to share a glimpse of the very moment she learned her latest children’s book would be published.

The singer already found success with her Ugenia Lavender stories before signed a two-book deal for her latest adventure series.

Geri can be seen squealing in delight as she is told the news over the phone while walking through an airport.

Posting a photo ahead of her upcoming US book tour she wrote: ‘This is the exact moment that I found out was going to be published! I’m just as thrilled to see you all on my American book tour in TWO WEEKS’.

The story will follow orphan Rosie Frost who is sent to a mystery island, which is home to extraordinary teenagers and also a sanctuary for endangered species.

Speaking about the book, Geri said she hope it would inspire young readers to ‘find their own strength and power’ in the face of challenges.

She said: ‘Rosie Frost has lived in my heart for a long time and this feels just the right moment to introduce her to the world.

‘I hope her strength in the face of adversity and path to believing in herself inspire young readers across the globe to find their own strength and power as they face challenges in their own lives.’

Scholastic UK’s executive editor Linas Alsenas said that Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen would ‘reveal a totally new dimension of Geri Halliwell-Horner’s extraordinary imagination: a thrilling mix of history, mystery, music, and adventure.

‘Rosie Frost is the determined, big-hearted hero we all need, and her journey of discovery on Bloodstone Island is packed with surprises that will have fans clamouring for more.’

Geri already wrote a series of books for children in 2008, about the adventures of nine-year-old Ugenia, a character based on Geri, which were very successful.
