During the first half of the Buffalo Bills ‘Thursday Night Football’ game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, fans were left debating over an audible made by quarterback Josh Allen.

With 9:23 remaining in the first quarter the Bills QB called changed the play on the field as he said ‘J.R Smith J.R Smith’ in reference to two-time NBA Champion.

Allen later on used another audible that paid homage to a more well-known player that won NBA titles with Smith as he said ‘LeBron James.’

However, the NFL on Prime X posted a video of the audible claiming Allen used a ‘Taylor Swift, Taylor Swift’ audible, which quickly lead to fans across social media crucifying any account that made the claim.

The thought that the call had to do with Swift stems from the amount of attention the NFL has paid to the musical star due to her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

After being bashed by fans the NFL on Prime posted a poll asking users if they heard ‘Taylor Swift’ or ‘J.R Smith’ which showed over 95 percent voting for ‘J.R Smith.’

Fans have previously complained over the NFL’s amount of coverage Swift has gotten from the league and the media and stunts like this will likely further those sentiments among non Swifties.

‘He’s clearly saying, JR Smith,’ stated multiple accounts in the comments under the video.

‘He clearly said J.R Smith, the glazing is insane,’ said another commenter.

‘This is getting embarrassing. He clearly said JR smith,’ said one person who included a laughing emoji.’

‘100% J.R Smith… y’all are doing anything to hype up Taylor Swift,’ read one post.

‘Stop trying so hard nerds,’ said another user.

‘Y’all gotta be deaf,’ one person posted.

‘Typical nfl d rifing t swift,’ one user commented.

‘Imagine hearing Taylor Swift instead of JR Smith. Sad,’ read another.

One person whose comment appeared to remain neutral said: ‘this is interestingly a “green needle” situation where if you are listening for taylor swift you will hear taylor swift and if you’re listening for JR smith you will hear JR smith,’
