Horror as woman found ‘burned to death’ in Moston woods by Greater Manchester Police following 999 calls from families who had spotted her on fire

The body of a woman has been discovered in a woodland area after horrified locals reported a person on fire in the area.
Police arrived at the scene in Moston, Manchester, at 6.15pm following reports of a fire and tragically discovered the woman dead.
It came shortly after locals called 999 to report a person set alight in the area.
The woman’s official cause of death – as well as her age, identity and what caused the fire – has not been confirmed by police, Manchester Evening News reports.

Images taken at the scene show a police cordon and white tarpaulin amid the trees and brambles.
A fire engine was present at the scene this evening – along with at least two police cars.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: ‘Police were called around 6.15pm this evening (Saturday 14 November 2020) by the fire service to a report of a fire in a woodland near Williams Road, Moston.
‘Emergency services attended and sadly found the body of a woman.
‘A scene is in place and an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.’
