Britney Spears calls for redistribution of wealth and a ‘strike’ in message to fans

Britney Spears has people talking after posting an Instagram message where she appeared to endorse progressive ideals like redistributing wealth and a general strike.

Spears, 38, asked for unity and ‘connection’ as she shared a text post online Monday.

But the message, captioned: ‘Communion moves beyond walls’, also implored fans to make radical movies like redistributing wealth and striking as a political tactic.  

‘During this time of isolation, we need connection now more than ever,’ the orange backgrounded block of text credited to writer Mimi Zhu read.

‘Call your loved ones, write virtual love letters. Technologies like virtual communication, streaming and broadcasting are part of our community collaboration,’ the Work B**** singer’s post went on.

‘We will learn to kiss and hold each other through the waves of the web,’ it continued.

The message became more political, continuing: ‘We will feed each other, re-destribute [sic] wealth, strike. We will understand our own importance from the places we must stay. Communion moves beyond walls. We can still be together.’ 

And if there were any doubts about Britney’s message being political, those were snuffed as her caption contained three red rose emojis, a symbol embraced by members of the Democratic Socialists Of America.

The left wing organization seemed smitten by Spears’ solidarity, taking to their official Instagram to regram the post along with the message: ‘It’s Britney, comrade!’

The local chapter DSA Los Angeles also shared the post, inviting the Gimme More singer to join the group. 

Other fans also went wild in the comments, with one user writing: ‘Queen of [the] proletariat.’

Britney is not known for embracing her political side.

But she did suggest liberal-leanings back in 2017, when she shared an Instagram wearing a shirt saying: ‘We’re all Dreamers.’

She made it clear she was endorsing the Dream Act – or DACA, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program – in her caption, which read: ‘We are all Dreamers. Tell Congress to pass the #DreamAct.’

Back in 2016, the Toxic singer shared a photo with then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton but didn’t go as far as endorsing the Senator.

While she originally included the #ImWithHer tag in her caption, it quickly disappeared, according to Time.
