Married At First Sight EXCLUSIVE: How a ‘gun scare’ led to increased security on set and almost derailed the entire reunion dinner party
There was a ‘gun scare’ on set of the Married At First Sight reunion on January 15.
Just hours before filming was meant to start at the show’s studio in Sydney’s Lilyfield, producers heard whispers Natasha Spencer ‘had a weapon inside her hotel room’.
It led to a prompt investigation from executive producer Tara McWilliams, who discovered the bizarre truth as wild rumours circulated among the cast.

Natasha had packed a plastic toy water gun pistol, not an actual firearm.
A source close to the show said: ‘She’d planned to hide it in her dress and squirt it at Mikey [Pembroke] and Stacey [Pembroke] if they lied in front of the group.
‘She was out for revenge and thought it’d be hilarious to suddenly pull the water pistol out and start wetting them across the table.’

However, producers put a stop to the plot before Natasha left her hotel room.
‘They said it’d promote gun violence,’ Natasha told Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday.
As the cast arrived on set on January 15, there was an increased security presence.
Multiple producers stood by the entrance of the industrial estate the show’s studio warehouse is on, individually checking every car that entered the premises.
There was also additional security patrolling the estate all night.

During Tuesday’s reunion, Natasha dropped the biggest bombshell.
She stood up in front of the group to call Stacey Hampton and Michael Goonan as ‘the fakest couple in the history of reality television history’.
The brunette then claimed Stacey slept with her ex Mikey Pembroke during filming.
Stacey repeatedly denied this happened, with Mikey revealing text messages between them as evidence, where they discussed him leaving her hotel room.
Aleks Markovic and Ivan Sarakula, who had played Monopoly with Stacey and Mikey before their alleged hook up occurred, also claimed that it did happen.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel Nine for comment.
