Matt Damon and Adam Driver rock period attire on the set of their new movie The Last Duel
Production is under way on Matt Damon and Adam Driver’s new movie The Last Duel, with both actors rocking unique period costumes.
Damon, 49, and Driver, 36, were both spotted on the set in Sarlat, France, with director Ridley Scott.
The film also marks Damon’s return to writing, co-writing the script with his childhood friend Ben Affleck and Nicole Holofcener (Enough Said).

Adam’s look: Driver was seen leaning into an Audi on set, wearing a navy blue shirt with his hair nearly shoulder-length and sporting a mustache and goatee
Damon was sporting a mullet look with a chinstrap beard along with a thick brown leather tunic and a brown cloak over it.
The Boston native was seen walking through the set and chatting with other crew members.
Damon’s co-writer and co-star Ben Affleck was not spotted on the set, and it remains unclear when he will start filming.

The film is based on the true story of the last sanctioned duel in France, which took place in the 14th Century and adapted from the bookThe Last Duel: A True Story of Trial by Combat in Medieval France by Eric Jager.
The story follows Norman knight Jean de Carrouges (Damon), who, after returning home from war, accuses his best friend and squire Jacques Le Gris (Driver) of raping his wife (Jodie Comer).
After no one believed the wife’s accusations, and a court ruling favored LeGris, de Carrouges appeals to the King of France, who sentences them to both fight in a duel to the death.
The winner, according to the King’s decree, would prevail as a sign of God’s will, and if de Carrouges loses, his wife would also be burned at the stake for making the false accusation.
Damon is coming off his hit movie Ford vs. Ferrari, which he starred in alongside Christian Bale, which was nominated for Best Picture.

Damon will next be seen in Stillwater, alongside Abigail Breslin, which is slated for release on November 6.
He is also producing Witness For the Prosecution, an Agatha Christie adaptation that Affleck is slated to direct.
The Last Duel is currently scheduled to hit theaters in limited release on Christmas Day, before expanding nationwide January 8, 2021.
