We’ve all found a elaborately folded swan perched on the end of the bed in a hotel room, but one holidaying family were delighted to find staff had gone above and beyond with their towelling creations.
Twitter users Mike and Enda, who are based in Dublin and go by the username @team_daddy, revealed how a relative returned to their hotel room to find a towel creature sitting on their toilet.
The sculpture that looked a little like a duck, was perched on top of a towel cushion to stop it falling into the toilet bowl below, and was reading a cruise brochure.
Others rushed into the comments to share their own experiences of returning to a hotel room or cruise cabin to find a towel animal waiting for them.

In the original tweet, Team Daddy penned: ‘My sister on holiday with the kids, they had a few cute ‘towel animals’ left on the bed during the week but just came back to this.
‘There were even two little dots stuck to the top of the creation, making it look like it had eyes.’
But some were outraged by the cleaner placing the towels on the toilet, complaining it was unhygienic.
One said: ‘Funny, but all those towels on the toilet would go right outside our room on the hallway floor. ICK.’
Another wrote: ‘That’s hilarious, I just wouldn’t use those towels.’

Others were quick to share examples of the creations they’d encountered, with one woman revealing how her shoes and her goddaughter’s teddy bear had been incorporated into the towel design.
One user shared a picture of a towel wearing a pair of sandals and cradling a small brown bear, and penned: ‘Discovered this guy wearing my shoes and holding our goddaughter’s school bear we’d brought with us to take photos of ‘on holiday’ -this was by far the most random’.
One enthused of the creations: ‘I’m so glad the internet exists so that we can now immortalise such a masterpiece.’
