Original Riverdale cast members Skeet Ulrich and Marisol Nichols have announced that they will be leaving the hit CW show upon the conclusion of its fourth season.
News of their exits came Sunday afternoon, when both actors, as well as Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, released statements exclusively to TV Line.
‘Part of life in Riverdale — and part of growing up — is saying goodbye to people. I’m grateful to Skeet and Marisol for their incredible work on the show these last four years,’ wrote Roberto.

Both Ulrich and Nichols have been part of the cast since the show’s television premiere in 2017.
Ulrich played the role of FP Jones, who was the infamous father of Cole Sprouse’s character Jughead Jones.
His character initially began as a recurring role, but would eventually be made a member of the main cast in season two.
In his statement to TV, Ulrich wrote the he is ‘incredibly grateful for the friendships I’ve made on Riverdale,’ and that he will ‘miss seeing everyone on a daily basis.’

Hermione Lodge: Nichols portrayed Hermione Lodge who is the mother of Camila Mendes’ character Veronica Lodge
He continued: ‘I’m proud to have been part of such a talented group of people, in front of the camera and behind. But I’ve decided that it’s time for me to move on to explore other creative opportunities.’
As for those other ‘creative opportunities,’ the 50-year-old will act alongside Tom Hanks in the highly anticipated science fiction drama Bios set for an October 2020 theatrical release.
In regards to her departure, Marisol stated that she ‘had an incredible time bringing Hermione Lodge to life and working with my amazing cast, who became family.’
The 46-year-old continued: ‘We had so many wonderful times together during the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. We really do have the best fans ever.’

She concluded her statement by saying she looks ‘forward to the next chapter and [is] excited about the future.’
Nichols portrayed Hermione Lodge who was the secretive, affluent mother of Camila Mendes’ character Veronica.
Her character was also the wife of Mark Consuelos’ character Hiram Lodge.
Showrunner Roberto shared that the remaining cast and crew on Riverdale ‘wish them well on their future endeavors.’

‘F.P. and Hermione will never be far from our hearts. And, of course, they’re always welcome back in Riverdale,’ he concluded.
The show’s main quadrant, Kj Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, and Cole Sprouse, will return as their leading roles.
Riverdale, currently in its fourth season, airs Wednesdays at 8PN Eastern Time on The CW. Back in January, the show was officially renewed for a fifth season.
